Jason has been a music fan from a very early age. He is a singer/songwriter and plays guitar.

Gesch: Jason, How did you get started singing professionally?

J.P.  Well, It had to be at a place called Tony's Tavern in Baton Rouge. A few buddies of mine were sitting there with me and we were trying to think of something to do. Well, I was broke and he bet me the cost of a movie ticket if I'd go get on stage and play. So I waited until the guy playing that night took a break, and i got up there, I'm sure sounded terrible, and have been doing it ever since.

Gesch: So what movie did you see?

J.P. Ha !! Ya Know, I don't remember ever making it to the movies. I need to give Drew a call and ask him where my 7 dollars is (laughs)

Gesch: Tell me about the new band.

J.P. Great group of guys! There's Josh Crawford, bass player, He's a great guitar player, great singer, He's one of those "True" people, ya know one of those really great guys that would do anything for his friends. Very talented also. He picks up everything so quick.

David Brown, the drummer, is awesome! he's a real character! It really is never a dull moment when he's around. He keeps me on my toes. I tell ya, when i hear that first beat from David on those drums, no matter where we are, I almost turn into another person. It just brings "The Show" out in me.

Mike Sanchez, Lead guitar, i think he can pull off anything. He's really great. Very talented!

Gesch: What are some of your influences?

J.P. Well I think that would have to go to Garth Brooks, Hell of an entertainer, So is Kenny Chesney, Clint Black is an awesome songwriter. George Strait, ya know he can just stand there and sing, and thats all he needs, he has a voice that kicks ass and a talent for picking songs that will make you feel how ever he wants you to. Happy, sad, whatever.There really is more, but i'd have to say those are my top ones.

Gesch: Who inspired you on a local level?

J.P. Rusty Yates. That man has it all. you name it, he's got it. A voice, and can play piano better than anyone i've ever seen.
